The Hill House with its Japanese inspired design is probably the best known Mackintosh furniture design. Mackintosh designed it in 1902/03 for the publisher W.W.Blackie - as a place to lay hats and gloves. The original chair still stands in the bedroom of Hill House in Helensburgh.
