Vitra Home Stories for Winter 2016/2017
Winter Promotion - Home Stories for Winter 2016/17. Vitra x Artek
In collaboration with Artek Vitra have reworked the fabrics and colours of some of the most popular design classics and present the results, including numerous limited edition objects, in context of the "Winter Stories" collection 2016/17. The selection of the new colours and materials was determined by the Dutch designer Hella Jongerius

Vitra Ball Clock Cherry
The variety of the George Nelson Clocks collection is almost infinite, and to the form and colour spectrum from the 1950s, the Vitra re-editions bring a fresh wind. As part of the Home Stories for Winter 2016/17 collection, Vitra has now launched the characteristic Nelson Ball Clock in a natural cherry version.
Vitra Colour Block Blankets
Like most of the designs by Hella Jongerius, the Vitra Colour Block Blankets feature finely nuanced colour combinations. Vitra offers Jongerius' rugs in three different colours, each of which comprises more or less intensely contrasting fields. The Vitra blankets are crafted from Peruvian highland wool, from sheep species which is a cross of the Merino sheep with its extremely soft wool and the Corriedale sheep, which is known for its robust wool.
Artek 115 Umbrella Stand
Designed in 1936, the Alvar Aalto 115 umbrella stand is a testimony of its time. The noble and charming design makes the functional object a real highlight in any room, and Artek has now released the classic in a new "midnight blue" version as part of the Vitra collection "Home Stories for Winter".
Artek Serving Trolley 901
The Serving Trolley 901 by Alvar Aalto was inspired by a combination of British tea culture and traditional Japanese woodworking. Hella Jongerius has now reinterpreted Finnish wood design from 1936 with fresh colours. Presented in context of the Vitra "Winter Stories" collection the dark version nicely highlights the graphic features of Aalto's classic design.
