The design of the PH Artichoke, as with many other Louis Poulsen lamps, originates from the Danish designer Poul Henningsen. Known for his intelligent designs, designs that are not only aesthetically, but also technically sophisticated, Poul Henningsen achieved in 1958 with the Artichoke a new level of architectural lighting. The striking light radiates, thanks to its many-limbed lampshade, 100% non-glare light, an innovation which the designer developed in the 20s. Thanks to the uniform rows in which the copper or stainless steel blades are arranged, the Louis Poulsen lamp not only resembles a giant artichoke, and thus making it a truly exceptional and unique design object, but also allows it to distribute a symmetric and diffuse warm light throughout the room.
