French designer Philippe Starck created the Ero|S| G chair for the Italian manufacturer Kartell. Born in Paris in 1949 the interior architect and product designer Philippe Starck has been responsible for many successful furniture designs, including perhaps most famously the Kartell Ghost Chairs. The Ero|S| G bucket seat has a cantilevered seat shell whose organic, egg shape is particularly inviting and promises a high level of sitting comfort. The steel wire frame presents a very refined character, thanks largely to the filigree struts and is highly reminiscent of the Eiffel frame of the famous Eames plastic chair collection by Charles and Ray Eames. As an alternative the frame is also available with castors, thus giving seating movement and additional functionality. The combination of material, organically formed seat shell and the geometric wire base perfectly harmonise to give the Kartell Ero|S| G multi-purpose chair its own, exciting look.
