The Wiggle Side Chair was designed by Frank Gehry and belongs to the "Easy Edges" series from the early 1970s, a furniture family which perfectly proves Gehry's penchant for unusual materials. And equally unconventional construction methods and ideas of aesthetics. Distributed today by Vitra, the very stable Wiggle Side Chair is crafted from cardboard, layer upon layer built and formed and then held firmly in place thanks to the fibreboard side elements, and thanks to the statics inherent in its unconventional form. The cooperation between Frank Gehry and the Swiss manufacturer Vitra is long established, among other projects Gehry is responsible for the company's headquarters in Basel and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
