In 2020 Fritz Hansen presents the Ant 3101 New Colours in new, modern shades and a wide range of combinations of shell and frame. For his "Ant" chair, Arne Jacobsen was inspired by Charles and Ray Eames, who experimented with plywood at the beginning of the 1950s, and in doing so not only created a design classic but the predecessor to the Series 7, Jacobsen's highest selling chair. For the Fritz Hansen Ant, the process of gluing plywood was used for the first time, which made it possible to manufacture the seat shell from a single piece of plywood.
