The cantilever belongs to Tecta exactly as the Ant Chair to Fritz Hansen. Founded in 1956 in Lauenförde in Lower Saxony, Tecta's core competency was and is in the production and development of Bauhaus re-editions, including the B25: which on account of its chrome plated frame, flattened contour and slim, elegant lines is the classic in the Tecta range. This so-called "aplati" form, which takes its name from the French word aplatir, was developed by Jean Prouvé in the 1920s and in doing so presses the round tube which gives the chair additional stability and brings extra visible power to the frame. The concept was patented for Tecta, and together with the high backrest, makes the B25 a particularly aesthetically pleasing object which guarantees a high seating comfort - thanks in no small measure to the comfortable wickerwork which is available in various colours and thus applicable for every room concept.
