The Gubi C-Chair from 1947 is one of the most famous designs by the French Marcel Gascoin who saw it as his social duty to create functional furniture that could be found in the small rooms of the post-war era. With its inviting seat, backrest and the narrow waist, the C-Chair invites the whole family to sit comfortably at table.

Care Wood:
To clean the wooden surfaces, a soft, damp cloth and, if necessary, a mild, neutral cleaning agent is recommended.

Wickerwork:
Natural materials need special attention. The braid should be moistened regularly on the rough underside/back to maintain its elasticity - this is particularly important in dry or air-conditioned rooms. Long-term drought makes the natural material brittle and prone to cracks. If threads come loose, they can be reattached with glue. Heavy punctual loads are to be avoided.

Paper cord braid:
The surfaces of chairs made from braided paper cord normally require little or no maintenance, as the strong paper cord is durable for many years. The natural material is designed in such a way that it acquires a pleasing patina over time. To occasionally freshen up the seat wipe it with a well-wrung damp cloth; however, this shouldn't be undertaken too often as it will wear out the paper cord. If food stains the seat, it is best to wipe it off immediately with a soft, well-wrung cloth. Be careful not to rub the liquid into the paper thread, but instead gently dab the affected area. Do not use detergent directly on the paper cord!
