(smow)offline: Uses for old T-shirts

Those of you who know us know that we have little time or interest in fakers, copyists and other charlatans who undermine the work, talent and investment of furniture designers.

However, we’re also great admirers of inspired time wasting disguised as work and so it’s a big (smow)blog hats off to the boys and girls at the spreadshirt blog for their attempt at a Rag Chair.

That the spreadshirt blog team have such a big box of textiles is to be explained by the numbers of shirts required for the advertising photo shoots – something the majority of us don’t usually have to access to.

The result isn’t bad, does however look like something a child would fall backwards from, resulting in it smacking its skull on the floor. And an awful lot of tears. Which is a kind way of saying – Rag Chair may look like something any fool can throw together, but when the t-shirt professionals at spreadshirt can’t do it … leave it to droog!

What they can do with great finesse is the wall shirt prints.

Fantastic.
