(smow)blog compact. Depot Basel: Changes – Chancen

On Friday November 22nd Depot Basel open their new exhibition, Changes – Chancen.

At the beginning of September 2013 the Depot Basel collective brought together five Swiss creatives for a discussion aimed at exploring aspects of Switzerland as a location for “work, production and design.”

Consisting of product designer Jörg Boner, Stefan Rechsteiner from footwear company Velt, architect and author Claude Lichtenstein, product designer Meret Probst and interior designer & author Verena Huber the group represented not only different creative genres but differing generations of Swiss creativity.

Presenting a multi-media documentation of the discussion, the positions exchanged and conclusions reached, Changes – Chancen also marks the launch of a book which, in addition to excerpts from the discussion, also contains additional material from the likes of Trix & Robert Haussmann, Adam Štech and Frédéric Dedelley.

Complementing the intergenerational discussion Changes – Chancen also features a presentation of five “photographic positions” which aim to visually address the concept of generational change, passing on objects/ideas/visions. Legacy.

Depot Basel: Changes – Chancen runs from Saturday 23rd November until Sunday 15th December 2013 at Depot Basel, Voltastrasse 43, 4056 Basel.

The vernissage takes place at 7pm on Friday November 22nd.
