Jonas Forsman

Jonas Forsman, born in 1979 in Småland, southern Sweden, is an internationally recognised industrial and furniture designer. As a child, he learnt to use materials efficiently and develop functional solutions - principles that still characterise his work today. Forsman studied furniture design at Stenebyskolan, a renowned college of arts and crafts in Dals Långed, north of Gothenburg. in 2005, he completed his Master's degree in Industrial Design Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, where he still runs his own design studio today. His approach: reducing products to their essentials, using mechanical solutions and innovative materials and prioritising function. His most famous works include the O2 Lounge Chair and Ottoman for Hay. Forsman's work has received numerous international awards, including Red Dot Awards (2006, 2012, 2022) and the Design S (2010), and has been exhibited in cities such as Gothenburg, Stockholm and Milan. His design combines pragmatism, innovation and a clear design language - always focussing on smart, functional solutions.
