The four-legged Nils Holger Moormann table Spanoto was designed in 1997 by Jacob Gerbert, and at first glance resembles a pretty normal, practical wooden table. However the peculiarity of the table, is hidden underneath the table top: the tapered legs are connected to the frame without the need for tools, screws or glue. With the aid of a supplied mounting tool the legs can be simply inserted into the sides underneath the table top, where they remain, held in place and remaining rigid and stable through their own force. An ingeniously simply principle and one which makes Spanoto not only especially durable but also very well suited for uneven surfaces. And which means that, justifiably, the designer has been awarded numerous prizes.
