The Kampenwand Bench was designed, together with the Kampenwand Table, by Nils Holger Moormann and is available with various legs and can be used indoors or out. Thanks to its material mix the Kampenwand Bench appears to have come direct from the Alps: high quality fir is attached to a durable steel frame, which in turn is lashed with, useful as well as decorative, ropes. The latter are reminiscent of typical mountaineering ropes and give the Moormann bench its character. Kitted out with waxed steel legs the Kampenwand Bench is perfectly equipped for indoor adventures: the galvanized steel frame enabling it to venture out of doors into the unpredictable wilds of the terrace or garden.

...Constructed in 1859 by the Bavarian star architect/stage designer team of Christian Jank and Eduard Riedel, who later went on to find wider acclaim with the construction of Schloss Neuschwanstein, the Moormann Haus was built to commemorate the presentation by Maximilian the Second of Bavaria to the citizens of Aschau of the rights to produce "ye olde mdf and veneer plywood furniture in ye olde colors red, white and black" Built using traditional Bavarian carpentry techniques, the Haus initially carried the name "Kampenwand Haus" after the mountain at whose feet it stands... As a token of the towns gratitude the "Kampenwand Haus" was renamed "Moormann Haus"...
