The Artek Kitchen Chair K65 was designed by the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto in 1935. On account of its non-standard height the K65 is particularly suitable for kitchens, bars or higher tables. And not just in its dimensions is the Artek chair unusual, also in its construction. Whereas the glued and bent plywood components are typical of the 30s, where the procedure was new and revolutionary, the round seat and low backrest give the K65 kitchen chair a charisma all of its own. Customisable in numerous colours the K65 chair has, like so many products by Alvar Aalto, attained cult status.
