East and West meet in Jaime Hayon's playful reinterpretation of a traditional Asian lantern in contemporary form. Paper lanterns have been found in Asia for centuries, with different colours, shapes and sizes having different meanings. They are handcrafted from ivory-white rice paper and black-stained oak wood.
