The pendant lamp A110 is part of the design portfolio of Finnish designer Alvar Aalto and is, like all other Aalto designs, manufactured by the furniture company Artek. Although the designer is known for his flowing organic designs the pendant lamp A110 is more reminiscent of an industrial product: specifically one could easily confuse it for an abstract, oversized flashlight. Featuring a filigree brass ring with small openings at the bottom of the lamp head produces not only a vivid light effect but an aesthetic highlight, and thus allows the Artek lamp to cut a good figure over any dining table or work surface.
