The design of the PH Artichoke, like many other lights by Louis Poulsen, originates from the designer Poul Henningsen. Known for his intelligent designs, designs which are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also technically sophisticated, Poul Henningsen realised a new level of light architecture in 1958 with the Artichoke. The striking lamp with its multi-unit shade provides 100% glare-free light, an innovation that the designer developed in the 1920s. Thanks to the even rows in which the fins are arranged, the Louis Poulsen light not only resembles a giant artichoke, making it an extraordinary design object, it also distributes a symmetrical and diffused-warm light throughout the room.
