The USM modular furniture system, and the related USM Haller coffee table share a long history, one that goes back to the year 1963 when the Swiss architect Fritz Haller developed a modular furniture system use in the new USM administrative centre he had built for the company in Münsingen. Six years later, the Rothschild Bank in Paris placed an order for USM Haller furniture, and USM decided to mass produce their modular system.
