Erwan Bouroullec
Erwan Bouroullec (* 1976 in Quimper, Brittany) graduated from the École nationale supérieure d'arts in Cergy-Pontoise in 1998. Shortly thereafter he joined his brother Ronan Bouroullec's design studio as a partner, with whom he subsequently realised international design and architecture projects. Erwan always brought his technical precision and penchant for functionality to the duo. While his older brother Ronan was considered more of a creative "fox," Erwan took on the analytical role. This complementarity created a distinct creative tension that drove many of their iconic designs and contributed significantly to the international success of the Bouroullec studio.
The Bouroullecs' work was often created in close collaboration with internationally renowned brands such as Flos, Hay, Kvadrat, Ligne Roset, Samsung, and Vitra. Many of her works can now be found in important museums and collections around the world, including the MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the V&A in London and the MOCA in Los Angeles.

Erwan Bouroullec
In January 2024 the brothers went their separate ways after more than 25 years together. Erwan Bouroullec continues his involvement in design and architectural projects. This includes, for example, his role as Design Director at Kvadrat Shade and new collaborations, for example with Flos. Vitra launched the Mynt office chair by Erwan Bouroullec in 2025, which, despite its simple design, enables optimal seating and keeps the body balanced – a functional masterpiece!
