This classic Bauhaus era lamp is a real commitment to good design. Designed in 1931 by Christian Dell, the Kaiser idell 6556-T as with all lamps in the idell series, such as the Kaiser idell 6631 R Luxury, possesses a high iconic value and is representative of the connection of formal and technical innovation in the design of the 1920s and 1930s. Following tenures as a master in the metal workshops of the Bauhaus in Weimar and Städelschule in Frankfurt, Christian Dell created designs for the German lamp manufacturer Gebr. Kaiser & Co., designs which combined new industrial production techniques with innovative form languages and designs which are now produced by Fritz Hansen. The Kaiser idell 6556-T lamp is made of steel and brass and painted by hand in black or matt black.
