For all fluent in Japanese the name of the Ami Ami Chair for Kartell by designer Tokujin Yoshioka is immediately clear. Ami Ami in Japanese means namely "weaving" and when you look at the structure of the chair, you will understand why; for although the chair is made of plastic it has a seat and backrest in wicker, creating an interesting connection between modern materials and typical stylistic elements of Japanese culture. Kartell makes use of a complex manufacturing process with a single casting model. Available in numerous colour variations Ami Ami is, whether in an opaque or transparent version, a reliable all-purpose chair for any and every room.
