Lise Vester
Lise Vester is a Copenhagen-based designer whose work is characterised by a special focus on sensory and aesthetic design. Her aim is to develop products, furniture, objects and lights that enhance our well-being and appeal to us emotionally. Her approach has been shaped by personal experience: During her studies, she worked with a Danish hospice, where her aunt also spent her last days in 2011. She experienced how design and architecture can create atmosphere, comfort and care and support people at different stages of life.
Lise Vester's design is often playful and sculptural, appealing to the senses and stimulating curiosity and engagement. The designer deliberately uses contrasts in colours, materials and shapes to create visual tension. This approach is strongly characterised by the principles of "healing architecture", which aims to achieve holistic well-being through design.
Having grown up on the Danish west coast, Vester also incorporates personal impressions into her work. Sailing and fishing trips with her family inspired the design of the Keel coffee table, whose design language is reminiscent of the keel of a boat and which impresses with its interplay of lightness, robustness and sculptural presence. For Muuto she designed the Dream View Bench, which combines Scandinavian simplicity with sculptural form and impresses both indoors and outdoors with its flowing lines.
