Rui Pereira & Ryosuke Fukusada
Portuguese/Japanese duo Rui Pereira and Ryosuke Fukusada combine two distinct design cultures into a clear, contemporary design language. Since meeting in Milan the pair have cooperated on projects that combine functional design with emotional depth with the goal of creating long-lasting products that establish a direct connection with users and endure for generations.
In their collaborations the aesthetics of Japanese craftsmanship and European design tradition flow organically. Rui Pereira and Ryosuke Fukusada experiment with materials and manufacturing techniques, think across cultural boundaries, and thereby create objects that impress with their clarity, sensuality and presence.
For Hay they designed, among other works, the Chim Chim Scent Diffuser, which encapsulates fragrance with architectural grace, and the Brim pendant lamp, which impresses with its soft lines and balanced proportions.
