Since 2015, the designer Samy Rio has enriched the design world with a fresh perspective from his studio in Arles, France. His work is characterized by a clear focus on practicality and functionality. Plain, simple shapes meet complex, innovative technical decisions. This means that the apparent minimalism of his designs is always paired with subtle considerations regarding the materials and manufacturing processes. The best example is his battery-powered lamp Quasar for Petite Friture: the sophisticated lamp is stylish, robust and functional at the same time.
