How do I recognise an original Womb Chair?
The Knoll logo is engraved on the frame.
The Womb Chair from Knoll International was developed at the personal request of the company's co-founder - Florence Knoll. In 1948, the architect and designer commissioned her good friend Eero Saarinen to develop an armchair which resembled a basket full of cushions - and which was just as comfortable. The result was the Womb armchair. Crafted from a steel frame and a fibreglass seat, the comfortable upholstery of the Knoll armchair ensures a high sitting comfort. Covered with high-quality Hopsak fabric the Knoll Womb Chair is perfectly complemented by the Womb Ottoman.
