A company whose name stands not just for design, but for design with class and elegance. Alias initially established their reputation with re-editions of Design Classics by Gerrit Rietveld, Theo van Doesburg, or Man Ray, however now focus increasingly on contemporary designs for chairs, benches, tables & modular systems by international designers such as Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison or Michele De Lucchi. Founded in 1979 by Giandomenico Belotti, Carlo Forcolini and Enrico Baleri, Alias were originally known for their use of steel tubing, marble or glass: today most often used materials are PVC or mesh. Amongst the italian manufacturers most successful products are works such as Spaghetti, Prima or Seconda: works which thanks to their original forms and material compositions have become modern design classics.
