The Night Clock from the Vitra desk clocks collection was, and as with the rest of the Vitra clock family, designed in the 1950s by George Nelson. With his clock collection Nelson was responding to the growing demand for modern home interiors, demands which grew parallel to the American dream in America. Everyday objects need no longer be common, rather should reflect the new spirit and optimism; a philosophy of which the Vitra Night Clock is an excellent example. With its round base, glass dome over the dial and noble brass casing the Night Clock is an elegant companion for and addition to any household.
