The Kragstuhl for which the German furniture manufacturer Tecta is well known is perfectly complemented by the free-swinging Oblique K3 table. As with the Tecta chairs the Tecta table features a chrome plated tubular steel frame which has been deformed according to the "tube oblique" process in which the round tube is deformed in three dimensions, so that the steel pipe edges face outwards.

Design Story

Founded in 1956 in Lauenförde in Lower Saxony, the core business of furniture producer Tecta remains the development and production of Bauhaus re-editions. This includes the Oblique nesting tables K 3 from 2005, which follow the bent tubular steel principle of the Bauhaus style of the 20th century. In contrast to the "tube aplati" technique more common to Bauhaus furniture Tecta use the "tube oblique" bending process in which the steel tube is three-dimensionally deformed so that the edges point outwards, and the side faces are turned inwards: a process which gives the Tecta K 3 side table its particular aesthetics and stability. The steel tube design is typical of the era of the Bauhaus, whose re-editions are produced by Tecta under license. The models are approved by the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin and carry the famous Bauhaus logo designed by Oskar Schlemmer. The majority of Tecta designs are not created on a computer, but as a real prototype in the company's own workshops - this commitment to real craftsmanship guaranteeing the high quality of the Tecta products.
