Cutter Bench and Cutter Boxes from Skagerak

Designed by Niels Hvass for the Danish manufacturer Skageran the Cutter collection is all about Scandinavian simplicity.
Hvass, who runs the design studio Strand + Hvass in Copenhagen together with Christina Strand, believes that furniture should also have a function when not in use. The wooden furniture Cutter Clothes Rack or Cutter Box from the Skagerak collection prove themselves not only practical storage options for jackets, coats or scarves, but thanks to their warm-looking FSC certified wood and its harmonious design also for a homely atmosphere that begins in the entrance area.
In designing the Cutter Bench for the "Walk the Plank" exhibition, Niels Hvass drew inspiration from the Bauhaus movement and came up with the idea of ​​creating a minimalist bench with its seat formed from a single element: A design that can be found throughout the entire Skagerak Cutter collection, giving it a timeless aesthetic.
