Artemide Tolomeo Collection
The Tolomeo Collection
The Tolomeo lighting has been in production since 1987 by Italian manufacturer Artemide and are now counted amongst the icons of lighting design. The history of the Tolomeo family begins with the extremely successful, delicate Tolomeo Tavolo, created by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina: it forms the basic type of a whole series of standing, desk, clamp and wall lights made of aluminium. Characteristic of the lamp collection are the adjustable lamp heads with their typical, hat-shaped shades and the fragile frames. Frames given their supreme stability thanks to the special spring compensation system. However, with the Tolomeo lamp collection, not only does Artemide serve almost every lamp type, but thanks to its simple, function-oriented design and numerous configuration options, Tolomeo lamps can also be used in very different rooms, e.g. from the bedroom to the conference room. Thus, the Tolomeo Faretto wall light with its centred light is on the one hand a space-saving bedside lamp for reading, but can also be used as indirect lighting with the light head pointing upwards. The imposing Tolomeo Mega Terra, on the other hand, creates a familiar atmosphere in the living room, for example, with a black lacquer frame and black lampshade - in matt aluminium and parchment natural, it also excels in the upscale working environment or in an elegant hotel lobby.
