The Eiermann table has been a design classic for decades. Thanks to its newly developed height adjustment it becomes an ergonomic piece of furniture that adapts flexibly to the needs of contemporary work environments. Thanks to the height adjustment the table can be used both sitting and standing – perfect for healthy working in the home office and office.

From Student Project to Series Production

Designer Tim Schütze (born 1997) developed the height-adjustable Eiermann table during his master's studies at the Berlin University of the Arts. The task was to design a movable piece of furniture. Since he himself worked at an Eiermann desk every day, he used it as a base. Inspired by 3D printer technology, Schütze used spindles manually moved via a rotating belt and gears – this allowed the tabletop to be continuously adjusted in height. Richard Lampert became aware of the project via Instagram. After a meeting with Tim Schütze in Berlin, the idea of ​​adding a lifting function to the Eiermann table was put into practice. Richard Lampert is now the exclusive producer of the height-adjustable Eiermann 1 tables.

The motivation behind the Eiermann with a lifting function was clear: Many customers had long desired a height-adjustable version of the classic desk to enable ergonomic work. The increasing importance of working from home also necessitated flexible solutions. The desk had to remain true to its authentic design while simultaneously meeting modern work and ergonomic requirements. As one user put it: "I'm nostalgic and always wanted an Eiermann desk – but a desk should also offer a standing position for back-friendly working!"

Technology & Variants – Electric or Mechanical Height Adjustment?

The Eiermann 1 table with height adjustment is available in two versions: mechanically height-adjustable and electric height-adjustable. Both versions remain true to the original design but differ in operation and comfort.

Mechanical height adjustment (M)
► Works via a rotating belt that drives gears

► 23 steps are all it takes to fully change the height

Electric height adjustment (E)
