Vera Köller and Lukas Cober have found their home on the edge of the forest near Maastricht - a former miner's house made of marlstone, which they have transformed step by step with their own hands. "Craftsmanship is at the centre of everything," says Lukas. Concrete floors, vaulted ceilings, old doors - every detail tells of their sense of Material, feel and durability. Here, raw minimalism meets colourful accents: a yellow mirror, a bright yellow staircase. Clarity and vibrancy merge to create an atmosphere that is both inspiring and grounding. "Home is where you feel comfortable," says Belgian architect David van Severen, who lives with his partner Martina Björn in a Brussels villa reminiscent of a small castle. Once an office building, it is now a personal retreat with an enchanted courtyard, old trees and plenty of room to breathe - a piece of wilderness in the middle of the city.
