Feel-Good Place At Home - Vitra Home Stories For Winter 2025/26

What actually makes a home a home? Perhaps it's the moment when we close the door behind us - and the noise of the world stays outside. Where we take a deep breath, let go and are completely with ourselves again. Maybe it's the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning, the familiar creaking of the floor or the soft light coming through the curtains. Design plays a special role in this: it creates atmosphere, accompanies us in our everyday lives and characterises the spaces in which we live. With the Vitra Home Stories for Winter 2025/26, Vitra invites you to rediscover your own home - with inspiring living worlds in which design classics and contemporary designs become familiar companions. In addition to two impressive Home Stories that show how differently and personally a home can be designed, Vitra is also offering a special promotion this winter: when you buy an Eames Lounge Chair, you will receive a free leather or fabric upgrade - and thus a little more comfort for your personal home feeling

Timeless comfort, reinterpreted: Lounge Chair Calma

Since its introduction in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair by Charles and Ray Eames has been a symbol of modern living comfort and timeless design. With its sculptural form, precise craftsmanship and harmonious interplay of wood, upholstery and ergonomics, it has long since become an icon. This season, Vitra is presenting the classic for the first time in Calma - a modern fabric version that combines elegance and naturalness. The dense, velvety pure new wool pile made from 100% natural fibres shimmers depending on the incidence of light, is dimensionally stable, easy to care for and surprisingly hard-wearing

Raw Charm, Lively Details - A Miner's House Near Maastricht

Deceleration brought to a chair: the Slow Chair from Vitra lives up to its name and conveys a feeling of home

Vera Köller and Lukas Cober have found their home on the edge of the forest near Maastricht - a former miner's house made of marlstone, which they have transformed step by step with their own hands. "Craftsmanship is at the centre of everything," says Lukas. Concrete floors, vaulted ceilings, old doors - every detail tells of their sense of Material, feel and durability. Here, raw minimalism meets colourful accents: a yellow mirror, a bright yellow staircase. Clarity and vibrancy merge to create an atmosphere that is both inspiring and grounding. For Vera and Lukas, their home is an ongoing process - a place that evolves with them. Embedded in nature, protected by the forest and the mountain, this house becomes a space that gives peace and breathes creativity.

Old Walls, New Stories: Life In A Historic City Villa

Guaranteed stately working at the Courier Desk from Vitra

"Home is where you feel comfortable," says Belgian architect David van Severen, who lives with his partner Martina Björn in a Brussels villa reminiscent of a small castle. Once an office building, it is now a personal retreat with an enchanted courtyard, old trees and plenty of room to breathe - a piece of wilderness in the middle of the city. Old interiors meet modern design here, but it's not about contrasts, it's about harmony. "It's not about style," explains Martina. "It's about finding a common language - in furniture, in art, in life." Between family heirlooms, works of art from friends and found objects from travels, a home is created that feels grounded and free at the same time. A centrepiece of the house is the Eames lounge chair in the new Calma upholstery: soft, elegant and timeless. It symbolises what Vitra stands for - design that creates a sense of security. A place where you can arrive, let go and simply be yourself.
